Pros that still opt for traditional means of photography

In this age of digital photography, there are still photographers that opt for and vouch for the traditional roll and film method of photography. Jeremy Drey is one of these professional photographers. He is an alumnus of Grandview Gallery of Wilson High School and belonged to the 2002 batch. He is currently working with Reading Eagle Company and till May 28, an exhibition of his work is available on display in the Gallery. The exhibit consists of 12 fabulous photos in black and white by the versatile photographer.

He is apparently overwhelmed negatively by the pervasiveness of the digital photography in every sphere of human activity and he instead endorses the traditional medium of photography. In his opinion, the time is going to come soon when the world at large will have had enough of the digital techniques of photography.

Soon the traditional film photography will back in place, more so when there would be consensus on the fact that digital photography is more a matter of computer tricks than human art and skill.

His works, the photos clicked by him through traditional means, are a clear reflection of his ideology. They are more vivid in their appeal than any coloured, High Definition image. The subject matter of the photographs ranges from an abandoned, isolated school bus to the peeling paint on old buildings. The theme apparently is the portrayal of obsolete and dilapidated objects and structures. They are allegorical in nature as every element in a photograph is a representative of some or the other thing or issue.
